Top Oktoberfest Biers

Did you know that the first Oktoberfest was held in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese von Sacchsen? We didn't either. So this September 16th grab our das boots and cheers to a 207 year old anniversary. I wonder what those photos would look like?

Since we get all sorts of excited at the mention of Oktoberfest and in preparation for this over 2 century old celebration, we're sharing our founder's favorite German beers. While one of our goals is to actually travel to Germany and witness these celebrations first hand, for now, we'll have to celebrate Boise style.

First off, Let's grab a das boot and fill it with Weihenstephaner wheat beer. Don't worry, we really can't pronounce it either. Our favorite place in Boise to enjoy some German biers is Prost. The atmosphere is amazing and there are dozens of German options.

Here are 2 additional beers that we just love to celebrate Oktoberfest with. These two particular favs aren't too hoppy and not too light. They are just perfect for the festivities.
